S. Army (1918-1931). Chief Surgeon, American Expeditionary Forces, France, World War I. Founder of the Medical Field Service School at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. Awarded American Distinguished Service Medal; Commander of the Legion of Honor of France; Companion of the Order of the Bath of Great Britain; Grand Officer of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
