The first two pages of John McVail's lecture on the prevention of measles, which he points out mostly effects children and is not helped by the usual public sanitation methods. Included is a chart on the death rate from measles per million in England and Scotland from 1855 to 1905, to show that it is a dangerous disease mostly due to complications it can cause.
