Obverse: In circle woman seated, half to left, with right breast bare and infant in lap; in a curve at left and right, MIDWIFERY & NURSING.; on raised band around, at top, between dot like markings, DR. STUART (outward) and below, 39 MAXWELL STREET GLASGOW (inward).
Reverse: Two men seated in chairs facing each other, the doctor feeling pulse of patient; in field above heads, HONOUR; on raised band around from lower left, PRIVATE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT, and at bottom, 1841; all incused.
