Bronze. Germany 1833. Signed. Lifetime. Commemorative medal on the fiftieth anniversary of his doctorate received on July 24th, 1783.
Obverse: Clothed bust to right, wearing coat with fur collar; in a curve at left and right, CHRIST. GVIL. HVFLAND; on truncation, BRANDT F. incused.
Reverse: A semi-nude women to the left with two children at her feet crouched in front of a raised altar, two winged nude youths on each side. One on the left offers her a drink, one on the right extends the thread of life from a spindle. On upper part of altar, staff of Aesculapius and a scroll with MACROBI / OTICE incused; in exergue, NATVRAE PRAECEPTA COLENS MORBISQVE MEDETVR / FILAQVE PARCARVM LENTIVS IRE DECET in two lines, below a short exergue mark, D XXIV M. IVL. A. MDCCCXXXIII [24 JUL 1833].
