Obverse: With rounded top; on upper half, in circular field, nude bust to right; at left AB in monogram, incused; on lower half, A / JULES BORDET / LAURÉAT / DU / PRIX NOBEL DE 1919 / SES CONFRERES ̶ SES AMIS ∙/ ̶ ∙ 1921 ∙ ̶ in 7 lines, incused; the whole within an incused linear border.
Reverse: Two draped females: at left Medicine, seated to right on a stool, a mirror and a spray of laurel in right hand, left hand resting on breast, elbow supported on corner of table, on which Science sits facing her; on table microscope and a rack of test-tubes; Science holds up a tube in right hand viewing it against the light from arched window in background; below in oblong panel ∙ A ∙ LA ∙ SCIENCE ∙ EXPERIMENTALE ∙ / ∙ LA ∙ MEDICINE ∙ RECONNAISSANTE ∙ in two parallel lines, incused; in lower right corner A ∙ BONNETAIN incused.
