The spade used to break ground for the new building erected for the School of the Health Professions at the University of Pittsburgh in 1954. The new facility was opened in 1957. The Alan Magee Scaife Hall serves as the home of School of Medicine till this day.

The whistle and Dr. Davenport Hooker were an inseparable pair. For every student who took the anatomy class, it will be forever associated with the image of the memorable Professor Davenport Hooker, Chair of Anatomy Department School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh from 1919 to his retirement in 1956. Framed.
